" I came to sculpture by a very circuitous route" admits Aprille Best Glover, Infected with the HIV virus in the early eighties her life has been colored by her battles with illness and the loss of her son to AIDS in 1991. A Florida native, she works in a variety of mediums ranging from traditional bronze and stone sculpture to mixed media installations.
She coauthored a book of children's drawings and stories called "Be A Friend: Children with HIV Speak" from Albert Whitman & Co. publishing house as well as a book of art and poetry "Split Down A Curving Middle." Glover exibits in both the USA and Europe. Selected Exhibits include 2002 Sculpture Biannaul at the Musée Renoir, In Her Own Image, with Audrey Flack, Aprille B. Glover, Hope McMath, Center at Ponte Vedra, Burning Man, Jacksonville Museum of Contemporary Art.
