An installation composed of two life-size hermæs. One form is identifiably female and stands inside a wooden horizontal icon for man. The other is identifiably male and stands inside an icon for woman.
Each hermæ is made of beewax, which is heated by a movable halogen light that slowly melts the three dimensional wax figures into the two dimensional graphic symbols.
This gradual process is documented in both photos and video.
Viewers are able to observe the dynamic change from female»male and male»female and the corresponding transformation of the wax itself.
