Lavardin Land Art – Nested History

In conjunction with the third edition of the Rendez-vous Troglos in  France. Artists Aprille Glover and Hervé ORGEUR have created a the first in a series of large scale pieces of Land Art that use art to highlight important historic sites in the plus beau village of Lavardin.  Made from  both downed trees and wood cut in order to protect  the site of an important archeological dig and early gallic oppidum, the artwork nests both the long history of the village that stretches back into prehistoric times with the lives of its current residents. Like nested dolls, our histories are in enclosed by our own life stories and  our families as well as the larger group history around us.
